"Good" change projects ?!

Aktualisiert: 30. Dez. 2021

Who is needed on board for a “good” change project?

Adequate change management includes a stakeholder analysis adapted to the project work as well as a risk-opportunity analysis. The main task here is to achieve the participation of the affected stakeholders.

In addition, a clear role expectation should be discussed with the individual stakeholder groups:

  • Steering Committee: Ideally, those affected and having a high degree of influence are represented here. A handful of people is enough. Their task is to actively support the change process or to make important decisions about the further course of the project. From my own experience, a monthly cycle is sufficient.

  • Sounding Board: Ideally, the steering group, management and important interest groups sit here. They give audible feedback from the organization back to the steering committee.

  • Project owner & executives: Without the commitment of the project owner, every project is doomed to failure. They have the greatest role model function and thus the necessary influence to actively drive the change. Regular update meetings, coaching and training sessions are important tools for introducing changes in the long term. This also includes the participatory development of leadership principles.

  • Employees: These can be heard with an employee survey or in workshops. Typical large group formats are World Café, Open Space or the future workshop.

It is important to derive specific activities for the project plan and carry them out.

"Never put more energy into a project than the project owners." Sandra Kolb
